Three Bridges Over the River

Arthur is a history professor who has just broken up with his girlfriend. When he has to travel to Portugal for research purposes, he asks his ex to come with him, in the hope that they can be reconciled. But his pushy neighbor comes too, threatening the relationship with sinister outside influences.
