Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
A blend of documentary and fictional interludes, "The Written Face" takes in the twin traditions of the geisha and of the male Kabuki players who interpret female roles. In this exploration of Japanese theater, the subject matter is articulated through its main focus--Tamasaburo Bando, one of the most renowned performers of the disappearing art of Kabuki.
