Mario Bellini's funeral home business is booming due to an ongoing mob war. However, things turn grim when the Strachitella family boss Alberto decides its time for his trigger-happy brother, Rocco, to meet an untimely end. Only his death is no more than a staged assassination. Mario is forced to hide the hotheaded Rocco, and he falls under the spell of the gangster's wife Maria, while Rocco gets a hankering for the undertakers girlfriend, Louise. When Maria finds her husband cheating, she murders him in a jealous rage and has to enlist Mario in one last elaborate ruse.
