An aging matador suddenly finds that his commitment to the sport is shaken with doubt. After becoming paralyzed by fear before a big event, he decides to take a rest in the country. There, he meets a rich American woman and the two fall in love. At the same time he must make sure that the young bullfighter he has taken under his wing is truly ready to become a matador.
