Three friends share similar dissatisfactions and frustrated ambitions: Alejandro, whose car is so pathetic that he can hardly be considered a real taxi-driver; Valeria, an air stewardess who must content herself with purely domestic flights; Luis who introduces himself as an actor but whose talents are employed only for pornographic films. In Buenos Aires, these characters – not really losers but worthy representatives of a kind of alternative middle-class, worn down by the economic crisis – let themselves drift along on the monotonous everyday, but are also sometimes subject to dramatic ups and downs that come their way. They experience addictions, separations, encounters, get richer or poorer at the drop of a hat, go round in circles, and wait for some improvement to come from unspecified external factors, just as the whole country seems to be waiting for salvation from abroad. This waiting game is crystallised in the pair of magic gloves from China that the three friends hope will somehow produce a miracle…
