Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
In 1927, Harry Frommermann decides to form an a cappella group in Germany, the first in that country. After many problems, the group is born and are an enormous success. While two members of the group also find love, Harry is too shy to capture the woman he adores. The group are apolitical, and although several of them are Jewish, do not take the rise of Hitler too seriously. On a tour of the USA, in 1934, they entertain the idea of staying in America, but while Harry wants to stay, the others vote him down. They return to Germany and are almost immediately banned from playing.
