synopsis
Story about a military investigation into the sexual murder of a heralded general's daughter. The investigation leads to a series of cover-ups involving sexual assault, secret sex videotapes, and a gang rape at West Point.

Watching John Travolta ease into a role is always a pleasure, but this film version of Nelson DeMille's 1992 best-selling mystery novel is a lurid mess, a Southern gumbo simmering in Gothic cliche.
