Running from his life as a soon-to-be dad with a pregnant girfriend, Freddy embarks upon a mission to find an uncle he thinks will help. While hopping freight trains, and hitchhiking cross-country, he crosses paths with another lost teen, Albert, on a stretch of deserted highway; the two runaways decide to head for Reno, Nevada. Along the way, they realize that they are both searching for the same thing --acceptance, safety, and the parents that abandoned them years ago.
