When not caring for his mother, Martin spends his time trying to track down his brother Pablo, who vanished after killing a worker at a nuclear plant in an act of terrorism. During a trip to Madrid, the timid Martin is seduced by Berta and slowly falls in love with her. Later, Martin, still with Berta, finds a man who can lead him to Pablo. But obsession, murder, and the far-reaching effects of terrorism result in suffering for everyone involved.
