Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Three stories of injustice and hardship from around the world. 11-year-old Peruvian Guinder Rodriguez earns his living breaking stones with a sledgehammer for use in construction. Like his friends, he tries to combine work and education. 60-year-old Mehdi Zana lives in exile in Sweden while his wife, Leyla Zana, is held as a political prisoner in Turkey. Although she's been offered a pardon by the Turkish government because of her poor health, she's refused to accept it if there is not a general amnesty for all political Turkish and Kurdish prisoners. Finally, Mexican immigrant Tomas Rangel travels to a prison in Texas to plead for clemency for his grandson Miguel Flores, who is sentenced to be executed. Only 3-5% of the death row prisoners in Texas have their sentence changed to life in prison. Fellow death row inmate Thomas Miller-El has reached the end of his appeals.
