Tex’s Take on Head of Household and Power of Veto

Posted by Ladytex

This may turn out to be a very good feed-watching week in the Big Brother 9 house. It has been so far. Sheila’s reign as Head of Household may flip the house. Natalie gave in during the HOH competition and allowed Sheila to win counting on their alliance to keep her safe. Right now it’s looking as if that decision may cost Natalie the game.

While still in their Glass Houses, Sheila promised Natalie and Ryan that she would nominate Adam and Sharon and that if one of them won the veto, the other would go home. I didn’t quite believe that because I couldn’t see Sheila letting Adam be evicted. But she was obviously believed because shortly after that Ryan let himself fall and about thirty minutes later, Natalie did, too.

Later in the house, though, another plan formed. While talking to the boys, Sheila said that if anyone, except Natalie, won the Power of Veto competition, then Natalie would go on the block and be evicted. They’ve realized how strong Natalie is and what a threat she is to win it all.

Sheila did keep her word as far as nominations went. She nominated Adam and Sharon for eviction Thursday. Thursday night, the houseguests were surprised by an announcement on their screen that the Power of Veto competition was going to be that night instead of the next day.

Of course CBS wouldn’t let us see the competition, and they waited until after Big Brother After Dark to start and blacked out the feeds. There was much speculation on the Web that it was time for the Morph-a-matic competition. The general consensus was also that Natalie should blow that one out of the park. It was seemingly made for her. She’s an artist and she’s been studying, and painting the faces of the houseguests.

When the feeds finally came back on, we found out that it was indeed the Morph competition. What I didn’t expect, though, was for Adam to win it. Not only did Natalie not win, she bombed it. The only one she finished ahead of was Sheila, who was disqualified for time. Apparently Sharo’s time was right behind Adams.

What happened? Not quite sure yet, but from picking up bits and pieces, it seems that Big Brother threw them a curve and included pictures of the guinea pigs. Ha! Natalie said that the guinea pigs threw her off. That may be why Sharon did well. Of course, she would be able to pick out her “beebees.” I can’t wait until next Tuesday to see that competition.

In the meantime, though, the machinations have begun. Sheila is telling Natalie that Sharon is going home. The boys are telling Natalie that Sharon is going home. The boys and Sheila are telling each other that Natalie is going home. It’s going to be a long week of flip-flopping, lying and whining. Natalie has been begging Sheila to nominate Ryan in Adam’s place, but Sheila so far has not promised her that.

If Natalie indeed goes on the block Sunday, game on. She’ll be fighting for her life. I’ll be interested in seeing how she handles it. Things are going to be interesting in the Big Brother house. Until then, catch y’all later.
