Paul's search for his missing father, a traveling salesman, takes him from London to the remote shores of Nova Scotia where he unexpectedly encounters a beautiful young woman, Rauchine, who's been living in isolation with her reclusive and overly protective mother, Megan, and Megan's own mysterious mother. Paul insinuates himself into the womens' lives and gradually learns the fate that befell his father and the secrets that lie in the nearby Garden of Dead Roses.
