Predictions for Tyler Perry's Next Five Movies

Tyler Perry's Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? comes out Oct. 12, just eight months after Tyler Perry's previous film, Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls. As you know if you have seen Tyler Perry's movies, they all have a unifying theme: Tyler Perry loves Tyler Perry.

His first theatrical release, Diary of a Mad Black Woman -- which Tyler Perry wrote and played two roles in -- made the tragic error of not containing the words "Tyler Perry" in the title. It went on to make $50 million, though surely some of that can be attributed to people seeing it by accident. Without the helpful "Tyler Perry" designation, a lot of moviegoers probably thought they were buying a ticket for William Shakespeare's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, or Stephen King's Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Ever since then, Tyler Perry has been careful to put the words "Tyler Perry" on every film, for the sake of accuracy.

Next came Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion, followed by the aforementioned Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls and now Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? He writes and directs every film and always plays at least one role. It is our understanding that they are all based on stage plays, which are regularly produced at theaters everywhere, all the way from Atlanta to Macon.

Tyler Perry's Land of the Tall Men Dressed Like Obese Old Women (Summer 2008):
Inspired by the enormous popularity of Tyler Perry's "Madea" character, this film takes place in a retirement home for giant elderly ladies, all of whom will be played by Tyler Perry in drag. It's his tribute to Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence! And, of course, Tyler Perry.

Tyler Perry's My Sister's Boyfriend's Awkward Title's Multiple Possessives (Christmas 2008):
It's Tyler Perry's philosophy's central theme that a movie's title's possessives should not be limited. So last year, his summer's labor's yield was this film, which so far only has a title. But when it's finished, you can be sure its characters' personalities' quirks will be hilarious!

Tyler Perry's The Story of Tyler Perry's Movies:
(Spring 2009) This will be Tyler Perry's first documentary, in which he takes a look behind the Tyler Perry juggernaut. How will he operate the camera and interview himself at the same time? We'll find out!

Tyler Perry's Self-Appointed Multi-Millionaire Guru (Fall 2009):
You'll love this wacky comedy about an obscenely wealthy man who writes preachy, sanctimonious movies aimed at an under-served audience that's starving for high-quality entertainment that speaks to them. We hear it's even based on a true story!

Tyler Perry's Movie That Will Actually Be Screened for Critics (Spring 2010):
Ever since Diary of a Mad Black Woman got almost nothing but bad reviews, Tyler Perry's policy has been not to screen his films prior to their release. But all that will change with Tyler Perry's Movie That Will Actually Be Screened for Critics, which is reportedly so bad, with such a melodramatic and implausible plot and with such over-the-top unfunny characters, that critics will demand that he go back to the old system.
