Oh. My. God. Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod! Have you seen the latest picture from the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that Warner Bros. has allowed to be released?! Ohmygod! It has, like Harry in it! And Hermione! And Ron! And they're sitting around what looks like the Gryffindor common room! And Harry is -- ohmygod can you believe this! -- showing a book to Hermione!

Ohmygod, I might die.

Okay, I'm teasing Harry Potter. And all the gazillions of rabid Harry Potter fans, most of whom probably did plotz over this image, never mind that it couldn't possibly tell us anything we don't already know, since we've all read the books a dozen times apiece, and since we all already know what Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint look like.

Still, they're cute, aren't they?

The more interesting news is that the last book in the Harry Potter saga, The Deathly Hallows, will be chopped up into two movies, scheduled to open in November 2010 and May 2011. Well, hopefully not chopped up, not ripped asunder indiscriminately or anything. The good news is that director David Yates -- who made Order of the Phoenix (which is so so damn brilliant) and who is now shooting the sixth Potter film, The Half-Blood Prince (set to open November 21) -- will be back to handle both parts of Deathly Hallows. So if they suck, they should at least suck consistently.

Ohmygod, I just thought of this! Maybe, if we're very lucky, we'll get scenes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the Gryffindor common room in both Deathly Hallows movies!
