Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
The controversial subject matter surrounds the true story of a small town Florida police chief who is investigating a string of murders in early December, 1941. Through a series of unrelated clues, his investigation leads him to the local Air Force Base where, incredibly, he comes across information that proves the U.S. government knew well in advance the attack on Pearl Harbor. Recently released government classified documents have shown that President Franklin Roosevelt and many military leaders were aware of the attack but felt something drastic was needed to sway American public opinion away from its isolationist movement before it was too late to stop the advance of the Germans and Japanese war machines.
