A glimpse into the life of a masochistic performance artist, Bob Flanagan, who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis all his life until his death at forty-three in 1995. Flanagan was well known for his examination -- through piercing, penetration and multitudinous forms of self-effacement -- of how we experience pain and the associated pleasures of sadomasochism and domination.
