Colin is enjoying a long-awaited vacation with his pretty wife Maggie in beautiful Prague. However, their idyll is rather spoiled when, during a stroll around the Old Town, she's crushed to death by a falling statue. Grief-stricken, though lacking the courage to commit suicide, Colin hires his cash-strapped, hen-pecked driver, Pavel, to kill him. But things don't go quite according to plan, and though the body-count rises rapidly (courtesy both of Pavel's ineptitude, and the arrival on the scene of psychotic thug Karel), poor Colin remains miraculously and frustratingly untouched.
