After finishing school, a young German named Benjamin travels through Asia. In Phnom Penh, he meets a Cambodian girl Sreykeo and instantly falls in love. After their first night together, he discovers she works as a bargirl. Nevertheless, he enjoys their time together in this this country torn between modernity and a belief in ancient spirits. Back in Germany, Benjamin realizes he wants to keep Sreykeo in his life. Against all odds, he gives it his best shot to stay with Sreykeo forever.
