Jonathan, a New York City computer specialist, finds out that one of his childhood girlfriends has turned to a life of prostitution. He then takes it upon himself to help her find a way out of the "life" and get a career in the "real" world. His friends, business partners and new girlfriend are less than pleased when he moves Roberta into his apartment. And their fears seem to be realized when what begins as an altruistic gesture reveals itself as an unwavering obsession, and his life slowly unravels.
