Lou Bendetti is a violent, homophobic stutterer who transforms into an inspirational leader of his community. By confronting his insecurities through reliving abuse at the hands of his father, he realizes his stutter, homophobia, and violence are simply repetitions of the story he hoped to change the ending to, in order to get the love that was not there. Lou succeeds by overcoming his past. Forced to abandon his career by a potentially fatal condition, Lou Bendetti must face his personal truths to save his life.
