Ethically challenged lawyer Frank has lost his last three capital cases and is looking for work on the side. He begins to correspond with convicts on death row and sells their letters to the tabloids. Then he meets a young woman on death row convicted of kidnapping and killing a child in Oklahoma. Frank soon questions Charlotte Cory's guilt, and suddenly, his cynicism is reversed. Frank sets out to prove her innocence in his desperate search for the truth.
