Akiko, a high school student, and her mother return to their home in the countryside, a small town where everybody knows about her AIDS virus, including her best friend, Natsumi. While attending her high school ceremony, Akiko faints from anemia causing people to panic and become even more afraid of catching her disease. At the school festival, where Natsumi and Akiko has fallen ill and Natsuki ends up doing it by herself. On the stage, after hearing the people hooting about Akiko's disease, she confronts the audience telling them how Akiko confronted death and all of her pain and sadness.
