The story follows Helga Goetze, a middle-age house wife, who discovers sexual freedom after 25 years of marriage who states that she has had approximately 200 lovers in 3 years. The other half of the film is a version of "Red Love," the 1927 novella of sexual liberation by Bolshevik feminist Alexandra Kollontai.
