Alice is just a baby when her father, Oso ("Bear") is sentenced to prison for killing a cop during a robbery. After serving only seven years, he is released and immediately sets out to find his daughter. Alice is living with her mother, Natalia, and her mother's new boyfriend at the time. As Oso rebuilds the bond with his child, he struggles with his realtions with Natalia and the new man in her life.
