Bobby is a young boy living with his grandpa and mother in rural Nebraska. Bobby's family and surroundings are poor, but his imagination is extremely active. Captain Jezebel Jack is a seventeenth century pirate, forced to walk the plank by his own mutinous crew. When a supernatural storm arrises, throwing both worlds into disarray, a bridge is formed, connecting these two times and places, and allowing Bobby and Jack to meet.
