Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
Mani Kongo, a Congolese king, comes to Brussels to find his daughter. She has been in prison, and is now dating a taxi driver and working at a dance club. Mani befriends the taxi driver without either knowing the connection. Meanwhile, a bizarre series of crimes is under way involving a man with an African mask, and one takes place at daughter Mwana's club, which is run by a sleazy former colonial administrator. Issues of class, colonialism and cultural identity are explored in the comedic plot twists through which the characters eventually reunite.
