Sophie is a young writer of erotic scenarios who fills her imaginary life with exquisite detail. She loses control of her fantasy world when she meets Eddie the jeweler who, also in search of perfection, finds Sophie the most enticing woman he has ever met. Sophie is also caught up in this obsession and returns his desire. Eddie decides to spend a weekend with Sophie, putting in jeopardy his impending engagement to the daughter of a rich antique dealer.
