synopsis
Inside the body of Frank there lives an entire city consisting of the body parts that make Frank work. A white blood cell cop named Osmosis Jones (Ozzy for short) teams up with by-the-book rookie cold tablet Drix to destroy the mysterious, evil virus that has invaded the City of Frank. Meanwhile, in the outside world, a doctor is trying to discover what is the matter with Frank.

The way I see it, Osmosis Jones will have to duke it out with A.I. as the most schizoid flick of summer 2001. What we've got here is a mix of live action (directed by those kingpins of uncouth comedy, Peter and Bobby Farrelly) and animation (directed by Tom Sito and Piet Kroon, who work on stuff like The Little Mermaid and The Iron Giant) that wants to reach the family audience and gross them out as well. Leave it to the Farrelly brothers to once again gross us out. It isn't that far of a stretch for the directing duo to demonstrate what happens to a body when you don't take care of it. Throwing up, exploding zits, farting--it's all there, if you like that kind of thing. Yet the premise of the film--one plot revolving around real actors and the other around animated characters--is kind of unique in this summer's list of clichéd and tired movies.
