Mitsuko is married to workaholic Haru, who struggles daily to keep his job and returns home late at night, drunk and exhausted. Striving to make her husband happy, she cooks dinners that never get eaten and maintains a home that never gets dirty. Falling into deeper and deeper depression, Mitsuko seeks comfort in her friend Kumi, who is also in an unhappy marriage. One day Mitsuko discovers she is pregnant, and Haru begins to finally take notice of her. She thinks this could be the end of her problems, but really her troubles are only going to get worse.
