Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
Johan is no longer eligible for treatment and will have to spend the rest of his life as a long-stay inmate in the psychiatric ward of a state penitentiary. But Johan says he is innocent of his sister's murder for which he has been convicted. Since nobody believes him, he escapes in order to prove his innocence. He goes in search of his mother who has always refused to testify and has broken off all contact. Johan is convinced that she can clear his name. Soon the police is hot on his heels. To keep a step ahead of the law, Johan takes an incidental passer-by hostage, a 13-year-old named Tessa.
