synopsis
A meditation on motherhood and unspoken love -- a story about three generations of African American women trying to mend their relationship. Mavis, a recovering drug addict struggling with an HIV diagnosis, her seven-year-old daughter Lisa, and Mavis' stern Southern mother, Anna spend one week in Anna's house in rural New York and try to renegotiate their relationships with one another.
