Bruno and Nino are two comedians who were going nowhere until their agent made them into a massively successful double act. On their first TV apprearance, Nino is too shy to speak and Bruno slaps him. Thus is their routine born and the pair spend the next two decades comically hating each other. But a stolen girlfriend turns the acted animosity real, and the relationship between the two men moves increasingly close to the edge.
