In Mexico, Father Benoit rescues a chimpanzee, who, unbeknownst to him, witnessed a strange meteorite landing on earth and was irradiated. A year later the chimp starts talking and becomes the object of some scientific interest. The priest meets Antoine Capella, a boxer down on his luck after refusing to throw a fight. The unlikely trio begin an adventure, trying to save Mookie the chimp from the attentions of the scientists.
