Marie is the proverbial prostitute with a heart of gold. One evening upon returning to her apartment, she discovers Jeannot, a filthy, blood-caked vagrant, sleeping in the garbage. Feeling sorry for him, she invites him to her apartment for a hot meal and a place to sleep. When she politely offers him sex as well, he not only obliges her, but demonstrates a skill and capacity that matches her own. Marie falls in love with Jeannot, and subsequently makes him her pimp. He all too speedily adapts to his new lifestyle and, with too much time on his hands, enterprisingly decides to expand and recruit other women. Naturally, this does not sit well with Marie.
