Four friends are traveling to visit old friend Romain in hospital, but on arrival discover he has died. His father shows them a video Romain made, in which he gave his last request: to be burned in a funeral pyre on a beach in Italy. They decide to honor this request, and against the objections of his sister Nina, they steal the body from the hospital and take off for Italy. Nina comes along, and together they embark on this final journey for their friend.
