Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Love the Hard Way." Oscar-winner Adrien Brody and Charlotte Ayanna star in this drama about a thief who falls for a curious, beautiful young woman. As their intimacy grows, a slick cop (Pam Greer) is closing in.
Four stories set in contemporary Buenos Aires, all focusing on the way in which racism, corruption and class-division are destroying any sense of honesty or hope in Argentina. In "The Wish", a small town boy makes it big in the city by playing the corruption game to the hilt. In "Life and Works" a Paraguayan worker believes he meets the virgin Mary, and this experience helps his fellow construction workers overcome their bad conditions and find a sense of community. In "Hard Times" a boy falls for a girl whose class position puts her out of his league. And in "Comrades" a sound recorder working for a political campaign is unwittingly implicated in the illegal dealings that surround him.
