Three people from different backgrounds meet at the funeral of a mutual friend. Tracing their friend's past, they travel to a mountain in Montana that he loved, using postcards he sent home as guidance. Walter, his old friend, has a fling en route with his ex Samantha. College friend Eric falls out with Samamtha and goes off on his own. They reunite in Montana, where they meet another ex-girlfriend Alex and her child, and some secrets are revealed about the past.
