An omnibus movie featuring episodes from five acclaimed directors: Francois Truffaut, Renzo Rossellini, Shintaro Ishihara, Marcel Ophuls, and Andrzej Wajda. Truffaut's piece "Paris--Antoine and Colette" opens the film by following the story of his infamous character, Antoine Doinel, who falls madly in love with a music student, but finds himself spending the evening with her parents while she goes out on a date with another suitor.
