Dylan Ramsey, a chicken-chested geek who is part owner of an L.A. eatery, has devised a master plan to win the heart of his beautiful next-door neighbor and dream girl, Lila. His act involves the kidnapping of her beloved dog so that he may emerge as her hero when he is the one that finally finds it. However, what he doesn't count on is the pandemonium that the dog creates while hidden in his apartment -- particularly when the dog ingests a diamond anniversary ring that Dylan's best friend and business partner has bought to surprise his wife.
