Jack Lyne returns to LA from his East Coast college to deal with his father's unexpected death. Jack is immature: he never can get around to graduating, and can't commit to either his girlfriend or a career direction. He had been planning to turn his father's business over to his Uncle Carl, but he is unsure. He begins to have suspicions that his father might have been murdered, and perhaps for personal as well as business-related reasons.
