Virgil is an idealistic young documentary filmmaker, who comes to Paris searching for Romanian ex-patriot writer Constantin Dolinescu, an exile for ten years. As Virgil follows the trail left by Dolinescu, he discovers the writer attempted his own film project, which fell through. Interviewing many of Dolinescu's creative collaborators, Virgil finally catches up with the man himself.
