Among French cops an informer is a cousin, a close relationship between police and criminal. When a drug squad cop, under investigation by internal affairs, commits suicide, his partner inherits his cousin. He continues to protect this dealer, and the two become not only professional partners but friends. The line between cops and criminals becomes fainter.
