Solange works as a meter maid in the town she grew up in, issuing tickets to angry motorists. She spends her evenings videotaping herself secretly singing to karaoke discs. But when her successful high school pal, Mylene, visits town for a book signing, Solange's latent discontent rises to the surface and she begins to question the path her life has taken.
