Last Resort (2001)

Russian emigre Tanya and her 10-year-old son Artiom arrive in England, where she plans to marry, but find themselves detained at the airport's passport control. Fearing deportation, Tanya requests political asylum and is transferred to an immigration center on the coast of south England while her application is processed. After being dumped by her fiancee over the phone, Tanya meets Alfie, who runs the local arcade. Though her time in England grows shorter, a romance begins between these two people who are looking for a new start in life.
