Myriam is a North African Jewish woman who has lived for many years in Montreal. She is on the point of moving in with Theo when he gets cold feet. Crushed, she looks for solace in her work and in some new friends. She meets Lou, a Jamaican squatter and poet, and most importantly she rediscovers her father Dede, whom she hasn't seen in 20 years.
