Kate's addiction is her college roomate and one time best friend, Sara. She is obsessed with Sara's life -- particularly her romantic life which she keeps close track of with the aid of hired private investigators. When she learns of Sara's engagement to her boyfriend Dylan, Kate unleashes a calculated web of lies and deception that leads ultimately to murder.
