After her brother Tsuyoshi disappears, teenage Kaoru goes looking for him. Discovering a love letter from schoolmate Izumi in his apartment, Kaoru sets out for Izumi's village. As she reaches town, her car breaks down and she asks to spend the night in Izumi's parents house. They allow her to stay over, but urge her to leave in the morning. Kaoru soon realizes something strange is going on, as the entire town is gearing up for their annual Kakashi (Scarecrow) Festival. When the secrets unravel, Kaoru is confronted with the supernatural terror behind her brother's disappearance.
