Annie is a divorced, general practitioner who must make house calls to keep business afloat during the slow August in Paris. She goes out for drinks after a party with Richard who tells her he despises overwrought passion in a relationship. Richard, however, begins to visit Annie at her office asking for a flu shot which leads to playful kisses. However, as the story progresses, Richard's "hypochondria" becomes a problem Annie would have been wise to avoid.
