A 12 year old girl in wartorn Beriut must contend with the conflict and strife within her own family while braving the horrors of war ravaging her home. Lina's personal battleground lies in the family apartment building and relates to her constantly quarrelling parents and her secret obsession with Siham, her aunt's sullenly beautiful maid. Lina takes it upon herself to monitor the 18-year-old. She tries to supervise Siham's clandestine dates and defend her interests. For Siham, however, Lina is a presence to be tolerated only when she is in a good mood or when she wants something. Angry at her own insignificance, Lina ultimately betrays Siham's trust, inadvertently reaching into the adult world without being truly aware of the meaning of good or evil.
