Lars and his father Henrick recently moved to the remote German region of Uckermark. Being 16-years-old, Lars' relationship with his father suffers from a general lack of communication. Henrick busies himself doing improvements on their new home in preparation for the arrival of family. Lars roams the frozen countryside with his dogs until he meets local girl Marie, whose spirit he finds both refreshing and captivating.
